so.. some asshole visits another asshole but a mob erupts and wants to rape the visiting asshole.. the host asshole offers his daughter and the visiting asshole's concubine to appease the mob.. sure enough.. the concubine ends up gang raped and murdered.
in the morning the visiting asshole loads her up on his donkey, takes her home, dismembers her body into 12 pieces and sends it to all the tribes to incite war.. so an army of 22,000 is formed, some prick goes and asks jehovah if they should go and destroy the gang raping mob.. and jehovah says 'yes.. do it.
they go to fight and loose all 22,000 die.
This is some fatally flawed logic:
Sometimes Jehovah tests to see how far you will persevere in begging him to get things done.
22,000 die the first time + 18,000 die the second time. All of those were just being "tested" by jehovah? After they died, how much further could that 40,000 "persevere in begging him to get things done?" Did these dead men pass or fail jehovah's "test"? And I thought jehovah didn't test people with evil, right? Or is seeing 40,000 dead a good test?

Holy Christmas! It looks like the JW is already shaking down this family for money! The way he's got his hand out, they should include a caption like, "When we say "free personal Bible study" it means we're going to personally free you from your money while we distract you with empty promises."

and its beginning, as was predicted, to fail miserably, and to have direct negative consequences on the poor sheep.. let me give you a little experience, directly from our congregation of about 80 publishers.
back in may, after reading the letter about the "new" arrangement, the elder body decided to "donate" the extra funds on hand to wt, as directed.
As many said at the time this was implemented, people tend to be overly optimistic about their ability to contribute on those anonymous surveys and as a result, there was an unrealistic amount promised. And the WTS likely knew this was going to be the case.
I was in a congregation that built an expensive new hall based on what was promised on the "survey" slips. The few months afterward were okay, but the amount collected started dropping to considerably less than promised. Of course all the JWs over-estimated how much they would be able to give. They're constantly told "jehovah will bless your efforts that are in harmony with his will." The sheeples reasoned "if I donate generously, jehovah will pour out his blessing! I'll probably get a raise. My car won't break down. I won't get sick." But the reality was that they amount the congregation had been collecting before the "survey" was already more than most of the dubs could afford.
"jehovah's blessing" is as phony as the "spiritual paradise"
it took a few years but i finally decided to join yesterday.
my background, born-in, still go to meetings for family reasons, i am inactive however.
if you were to ask when i first woke up i would say 2010 with the overlapping generation garbage.

I was honest and stated my doubts about the generation teaching and the g.b. being led by god.
I'm wondering how often this elder has already heard, or thought, these same doubts.

WT needs to rely on jehovah for financial support and stop relying on imperfect humans. WT is always telling the sheeples to rely on god and he will provide, so where is he now? If he really is an all-powerful god that created everything, he could create a few gold bars to cover his expenses.

they do not deserve that capital letter.
they are lowercase as a breed.

Now, all of the sudden they want to visit.

i hated ministry book bags.i hated coming out of my home with the book bags looking like i was going to a seminar.so,i starting going to the ministry school and sunday bible meetings holding only the required books for that day in my hand.. for the sunday meetings,i would just carry the song book,bible and watchtower magazine in my hand.

for the ministry school,i would just carry just what necessary for the evening.
just wanted to share with my friends, old and new, i got married to an "unbeliever" 11 years ago.. at the weekend we had our marriage blessed in our local parish church with a little party after.. my husband always supported my religious convictions until i disassociated myself in december 2013.. don't deprive yourself of love just because of the jw's.
